Hoana Stachl: Glass

Hoana originally trained in craft and design at a Regional Community College in Whanganui (1988-89), attaining proficiency in hot-glass skills (1990). She later graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in design, from Elam School of Fine Arts in Auckland (1991-94).

In the 1990's Hoana worked in a shared craft studio in Grey Lynn, Auckland, casting glass for sale and exhibition. This site shows some of the glassware she made back then.

The small pieces pictured here were inspired by traditional forms, utilitarian vessels, and specialised casting crystal from Gaffer Glass.
